Pat Martin served as a member of the Government Operations and Estimates committee during the period of time that former Privacy Commissioner, George Radwanski, was being investigated by the committee for the misspending of public funds. In his June 2003 letter to the Minister of Canada Customs and Revenue, Pat demanded that there be further investigations with regard to circumstances and arrangements made to forego a large portion of taxes owed by Mr. Radwanski. In December 2003, Pat demanded that the RCMP investigation of Mr. Radwanski be expanded to include all a previously unknown $35,000 personal loan he received from his chief of staff. "I'm flabbergasted', said Pat to news reporters after information of the personal load emerged,' I thought I'd seen it all with this guy and more keeps surfacing. I want the RCMP investigation expanded to include this loan. He's got more gall than Caesar." Click on the articles below to read more. |
