What is a Members Statement?

Private Members (Members who are not Ministers) in the House of Commons are permitted to address the House for up to one minute on any matter of international, national, provincial or local concern.

Members statements are read in a 15 minute period immediately preceding Oral Question Period each day in the House of Commons.
