The citizens need to be protected from foods that obviously harm us with the #1 killer in our country. Please ban trans fats. We want to keep OHIP and reduce the costs of climbing unecessary health costs. |

With our medicare expenses being so high, this is such a simple ingredient to change to give us a better chance to fighting heart disease. What is the reason behind taking a very healthy fat, canola oil, and turning it into a damaging ingredient to our systems. Governments should be considering the health of their population over the almighty dollar, it may even be more costly to turn an inexpensive oil to a hydrogenated one, for the sake of length of shelf life. |

I am 59 years old and have recently been diagnosed with high cholesteral..........now I am informing my children of the things I have learned. I think your private member's bill is a brilliant plan........good for you! And good for the health of Canadians! And good for our public purse! Usually our government can understand monetary issues. The sueing possibility......can that be true? How rediculous. |

I am a nutritional consultant. I also work in a health food store. A petition should be available for each health food store to obtain signatures. |

I support a ban in manufactured trans fats. Some foods contain natural trans fats and they should be exempt. |

as a nutritionist, I agree with this move 100%.. it is very frustrating when shopping to find very little in processed food lines that are without this dangerous product. |
