Anything that can be done to make the food industry more accountable is a good thing. I'm often appalled at what is sold as "food" and then marketed to be nutritious. I think every teenager should have to take a course on how to read and understand food labels before we let them loose into the world. I really hope trans fats will be banned. Thanks for the hard work. |

I'm a mother of a one year old. I have great difficulty finding foods that don't have trans fat. I refuse to feed my child products that contain these fats. Canada needs to stand up and demand that companies provide products that don't compromise our children's health. |

Banning trans fats is a start, Canadians need to be told straight how bad almost all processed and fast foods are whether or not they contain trans fats. This should be accomplished by restricting fast food ads like they do alcohol and tobacco ads. Advertisements showing what a healthy meal looks like need to be aired as well. |

I think it is very important for people to be informed about what they are eating, and of the negative effects it may have on their health. I believe it is the responsibility of the government to make regulations requiring the proper labeling of ALL foods for potentially dangerous ingredients and foods. |
